L067(Pseudancistrus sp.)
Historically L017 and L067 have been treated as the same species, but it is now recognised that they are completely different fishes. L017 and L067 both have the same dark body with white spots, and both have a yellow fringe to the tail fin. However, only L067 has yellow in the dorsal fin as well, and L067 also has odontodes (bristles) around the front edge of the snout.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
Peaceful but territorial, best kept on its apart from its own kind and other plecs. Gets along well with community fishes such as tetras, barbs, gouramis, etc. As with Rio Xingu generally, does best in warm, slightly soft and acidic water. An omnivore, it will eat some algae but should be given a mixed diet including sliced vegetables, bloodworms, and algae wafers. The addition of bogwood to the aquarium will be appreciated both as a place to hide and as a potential source of dietary fibre.
