Kryptopterus cryptopterus(Blue Sheatfish)

A highly distinctive species lacking a dorsal fin and having a glassy, blue-tinted body. Mostly nocturnal, the species enjoys being kept in groups and likes to swim about in shady corners of the tank.


Fish information (behaviour and breeding):

One of the larger "glass catfish" in the trade. This is a peaceful if predatory schooling fish suitable for use in community tanks with non-aggressive fish such as plecs, rainbowfish and characins. Keep away from nippy and territorial species.

Fairly easy to feed on frozen foods and live foods; will take flake foods once settled, but might not compete with overly aggressive species.
